Q: Does the Housing Authority have immediate openings?
A: No. New occupants are selected from an existing waiting list.
Q: How many applicants are on the waiting list, & is the list open?
A: You will have to call the office to obtain this information.
Q: How do I get on the waiting list?
A: Contact the Housing Authority to request an application. Provide the name, address and phone number of the applicant. An application will be mailed. Once completed return it to the office for processing or obtain a copy from this website.
Q: How much would my rent be?
A: We are a Federally-Subsidized building. Your rent is based on your adjusted annual income (income + assets – medical expenses + allowances = adjusted income)
Q: Is there a minimum rent?
A: A minimum rent of $50 is required per month.
Q: How Many Units are in the building?
A: There are 80 units; 32 one-bedroom and 48 studio apartments.
Q: What are the age requirements?
A: 55+ Disabled or 62 and older
Q: How can I make a donation?
A: Checks made payable to the Liberty Towers Project Fund and sent to the main office of the Newton Housing Authority.
